Calling All Olympians!

The Pope John XXIII Regional High School Student Council invites all students in grades 8-12 to participate in a day of fun and competition on May 26.  Eighth grade students will host an Olympics on the school’s upper turf field, while the 9th through 12th grade classes will compete on the football field.

Student teams of 8-12 members, including an adult member from the faculty, staff, guidance department, or administration, will compete in a wide variety of events.  Each team is required to select a team song and design a team uniform.

Every student, faculty, staff, and administration member is asked to contribute to this fun-filled event in some way. The proceeds from the Pope John Olympics directly benefit all students. Funds will offset the cost of activities planned for Senior Week prior to graduation with the remainder held for the Class of 2018.  Monetary gifts for the Olympics will be gratefully accepted at as will the donation of healthy snacks, which can be dropped off in Room 200 at the high school.

All students are required to complete a registration form (eighth grade - 9-12 grade) and include a participation fee ($5.00) or non-participation fee ($3.00).  Of course, we are hoping for 100% participation!  Questions?  Please contact Mrs. Sharon Zuckerman, Student Council moderator, at

Let’s make PJ’s first school-wide Olympics a great event for everyone!

Call Margaret Butler a renaissance woman. The Pope John XXIII Regional High School senior can talk politics, play a character on stage, score incredibly high on tests, perform science experiments, speak foreign languages, paint a picture, give her time to others, and the list goes on. So, there is no wonder why Butler received early acceptance to Harvard University on Tuesday night.
