Christine Dunbar, moderator of the Pope John XXIII Regional High School Green Team, and club members are once again participating in the Trex plastic film drive. The collection will continue through April 15, 2017, and recycling containers are conveniently located at school entrances.
Plastic film includes – but is not limited to – bubble wrap, wood pellet bags, salt bags, newspaper sleeves, case over wrap, and dry cleaning and grocery bags – items that are often mistakenly discarded as garbage but are recyclable. The school’s recycled film provides valuable material resources for manufacturers such as Trex, which offers the industry’s widest array of composite products, including composite decking, fencing, and deck rails.
In past years, Pope John has received appreciation gifts such as planters and birdhouses, which have been placed in the school’s conservation garden and maintained by the Green Team.
Have a “green” holiday season this year, and support the Green Team’s efforts!
